When Rebecca began working at Eating Disorders Victoria, she knew a little, but not a great deal, about eating disorders. She envisaged staying at EDV for a year or so, increasing her skills and knowledge and then moving onto another role within the mental health sector. After five and a half years at EDV Rebecca is still curious, learning, engaged and committed to the work. In this presentation she'll outline why she believes her work matters, what keeps her curious and inspired and how her work at EDV has enabled her skills and knowledge as a social worker to further develop and consolidate.
Rebecca Lister is the Director of Education and Psychosocial Services at Eating Disorders Victoria (EDV). She has worked in mental health, social justice and the arts for over 35 years. Rebecca has a Social Work Degree from the University of Queensland and a Masters in Writing for Performance from the VCA, University of Melbourne. Prior to working at Eating Disorders Victoria (EDV), Rebecca worked for headspace Mount Isa on the Mental Health in the Workplace Project and was the Social Work clinical lead at James Cook University, Mount Isa campus.
