Lee George is a Wulgurukaba woman from Yubanun country, Magnetic Island in North Queensland. She has been a practising social worker since graduation in 2009, and has many opportunities to work in remote area communities, particularly with her own people.
Lee is currently employed by an Indigenous organisation in Mackay where she has been employed to create and deliver a DFV program called Weaving Stories: Our Women’s Journey of Healing. She enjoys the change and challenge in pace of developing and delivering a program in comparison to doing front line face to face work.
This was presented by the AASW North Queensland Branch Careers and Practice Webinars in September 2021.
