Social Workers are trained to work with the most vulnerable and disadvantaged members of our society. This is nowhere more evident than with individuals, families and communities who have experienced complex trauma.
It is of paramount importance that Social Workers are fully aware of the potential impact of trauma, and particularly the long-term sequelae of complex trauma that may ensue for our clients and the impact on their well-being across the lifespan.
Who should register?
Practitioners and students who wish to learn about the key principles of trauma-informed practice to enable a richer understanding of their clients experiencing complex trauma, utilising evidence-based strategies and guidelines to enhance client care and outcomes.
This webinar provides a solid and re-affirming emphasis on key Social Work principles and practice including: being client-centred; strengths-based; building strong relationships; awareness of secondary traumatic stress, vicarious trauma, and self-care; recognising potential service and system issues; and change advocacy.
The content of this webinar is based on State, National and International recognised and evidence-based theory and practice.
