LIVE ONLINE WORKSHOP
Capability Level: Evolving
In a loneliness epidemic, Social Workers are needed more than ever to take part in communities, and partner with others to create connection and safe spaces for healing. Where historically, practitioners have entered spaces to ‘save’ citizens, anti-oppressive community development offers a new way forward, that is trauma sensitive, strength based, and community led.
With a focus on working within in-person, community led spaces, this webinar will provide Social Workers and other practitioners a greater insight into the theory and practice of anti-oppressive community development, placemaking and their correlation to mental health. Participants will learn tangible ways to apply a bottom-up approaches with citizens to develop alternatives to remedy loneliness and isolation, that include utilising elements of Focused Psychological Strategies.
Who should attend?
This webinar builds on existing knowledge of community development and is suitable for those with experience in community contexts who are looking to deepen their knowledge, re-examine their practice, enhance their practical skills or learn how to utilize aspects of Focused Psychological Strategies into their practice.
