Social workers see people struggling with borderline personality disorder (BPD) and/or adult attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in every social work context.
There are increasing numbers of people living with BPD and/or ADHD, many with significant health and social issues. There are many co-occurring difficulties these conditions exacerbate and vice versa.
How do you work well with someone who has either of both of these conditions? What do you need to be vigilant against in your own practice?
Join experienced practitioner Peter Smith as he outlines a Day in the Life working with people living with these conditions.
About the presenter –
Peter is an accredited mental health social worker who has worked in a range of contexts including rights and advocacy for university students; housing for people with mental health difficulties; public mental health community clinics; and as a consultant, therapist and educator.
In his social work praxis, Peter aspires to facilitate change and growth in individuals, within institutions and the community via anti-oppressive, pro-feminist perspectives, collaborating with clients’ experiences, identities, skills and hopes towards a society that embraces equity, equality and difference.
