Then this in person workshop is for you!
Becoming a supervisor can be a daunting next step in your social work career. This introductory course will prepare you to provide best practice supervision, create a safe and reflective space, and support the professional learning and growth of those you supervise.
This full day, in person workshop will equip you with contemporary knowledge, tools and skills and set you on a clear path to building your confidence and competence as a supervisor.
A learning pack will be provided with the course materials including relevant literature, tools and templates.
Who should attend?
Recent or emerging social work supervisors or those seeking a pathway into a supervisory role. This course is also suitable for practitioners who have limited supervision experience and are looking to refresh their skillset and understanding of best practice. Allied health clinicians, nurses, case workers, counsellors and anyone seeking to build their supervisory knowledge and skills are also welcome

Introduction
Morning Learning Session: (3.5 hrs)
- Best practice supervision essentials
- What type of supervisor do I need to be?
- Managing expectations, risks and deliverables
- Tried and true – agreements and templates
Morning Learning Activities: In this session, participants will engage in small group discussions to share insights and explore themes related to supervision challenges. Each group will brainstorm effective strategies and best practices for addressing specific scenarios while using Interactive polls and surveys.
Afternoon Learning Session: (3.5hrs)

Afternoon Learning Activities: During this session, participants will engage in role-playing scenarios to simulate real-world supervision challenges, as well as role reversal exercises, enabling them to empathise with both supervisor and supervisee dynamics. Additionally showcasing case study examples illustrating effective supervision strategies in action with Gallery walks.
