National Registration of Social Workers – Mobilising for Change 20 Mar 25

This session will provide an update on the AASW’s ongoing campaign efforts and the actions being taken to secure national registration for our profession.

Join the AASW CEO Cindy Smith and the Social Policy and Advocacy team as they discuss why national registration is important including public safety, professional capabilities, professional accountability and workforce mobility.

Learn about the latest developments including:

• Scope of Practice review which put forward social work as a priority profession for strengthened regulation.

• An independent review of the complexity in the National Registration and Accreditation Scheme (NRAS). The review is considering how the NRAS can expand and grow to meet future needs.

• The South Australia Social Work Registration Scheme which will begin 1 July 2025.

• How you can get involved and the most effective way to advocate.
