QLD World Social Work Day Presenter Series 19 Mar 25

World Social Work Day is all about bringing people together to celebrate the incredible impact of social work! Starting from Monday 17 March, we’re hosting a series of free online events packed with inspiring discussions on relationships, well-being, and professional identity. We’ve got an exciting programme of events for the week, covering a range of topics from transfer of wisdom to collaboration and protection of professional identity.

For our second presenter series event we have Hannah Taylor-Civitarese. Hannah Taylor-Civitarese, a proud Kamilaroi woman, holds a deep hope for First Nations women to be at the center of coercive control conversations, legislative changes, and reform. Hannah is a social worker having worked in the United States, England and Europe with Human Trafficking Victims. Currently pursuing her PhD through the University of Queensland, with experience in international social work, her research centres on the Intersectional factors of Coercive Control for First Nation women in Australia.

Presentation title: Intergenerational wellbeing and coercive control for First Nation women. Where we sit as social workers and how we can be apart of the healing journey.
