SA Christians in Social Work Networking Group meet for a meal and networking opportunity.
In a world where inequality and division often seem overwhelming, how can we bring people together to create real, lasting change?
Guest speaker Adrienne Ackers explores the powerful potential of aligning three influential frameworks—feminism, Christian faith, and social work—to promote justice, equality, and compassion in both personal and professional spheres.
We’ll examine how feminist theory challenges systems of oppression and advocates for gender justice, how Christian teachings call us to love, serve, and stand with the marginalized, and how social work translates these values into meaningful, on-the-ground action.
Importantly, this session will also reflect on the often-overlooked question: how do we ensure that men are not left behind in our pursuit of empowerment and equality?
Through inclusive dialogue and a focus on collaboration, this presentation offers a hopeful, practical vision for building a more just and compassionate society—one where everyone has a place at the table.
This session will leave you challenged, encouraged, and inspired to be part of the change.
