Member Renewal FAQ sheet
What is MyAASW?
MyAASW is your one-stop member portal. You can access your CPD records, certificates, resources, and benefits all in one place. It’s designed to make managing your membership easy.
How do I log in?
- Use a desktop or laptop for the best experience
- Click on ‘Login’ in the top right corner of the screen
3.Enter your email address on the next screen then either ‘Get a Code’ or ‘Log in with a password’
4.Check your email inbox for the code if you selected ‘Get a Code’
Can I renew if I haven’t yet finished my CPD?
Yes. You can renew your membership until 30 June 2025 (renew in May to get the early bird discount). You have until 30 June 2025 to finish your CPD and pay any applicable credential fees.
My CPD is finished – can I pay both membership and credential fees together?
Yes, both fees can be paid in one transaction. Just make sure your CPD is complete before renewing otherwise this is not possible.
My CPD isn’t done yet – what should I do?
To keep your credential, complete all CPD by 30 June 2025 and pay the credential fee.

If you need to meet your Category 3 hours, login to MyAASW, go to ‘Resources’ and select ‘Video’ under ‘Format’. Then watch and absorb the content!
How can I renew my Credential?
After logging in, go to your Home page. If your CPD goal is 100% complete, you’ll see a message in the top left. Click the prompt to go through the renewal steps.
How do I change my member category?
Go to the Membership page in MyAASW and click on Change Membership Type. Select your new category, upload any needed documents, and submit the form. Our team will respond within two business days.
What declarations must I complete?
You must confirm your agreement to seven declarations via MyAASW:
- AASW Code of Ethics
- AASW Privacy Policy
- Criminal Proceedings
- Ethics Complaints Management Process (ECMP)
- Fitness to Practice
- Obligation of Continuing Disclosure
- Statement of Member Conduct
What payment options are available?
We accept Visa or MasterCard (credit or debit). You can pay annually or via quarterly instalments (available to eligible members). Instalments are deducted on the 26th of the month prior to each quarter beginning.

Review of membership fees?
Membership fees are reviewed annually, and any changes to the fee structure will be clearly advised on members’ renewal invoices.

What are the 2025-26 quarterly instalment amounts?

Quarterly fee amounts (GST inclusive):
- Member – $216
- Member Reduced – $147.50
- Graduate – $116.75
- Retired – $82.75
- Students – n/a
Why is there an admin fee for quarterly payments?
If you are applying for member reduced fee membership, we ask that you provide evidence that are you earning under $69,836 per year. You can do this by providing your last two payslips. If you are self-employed, you can provide last year’s tax return with your tax file number redacted for security purposes.
Who qualifies for Member Reduced?
To qualify, you must earn under $69,836 per year. Please provide either:
- Two recent pay slips, or
- Your latest tax return (with your TFN removed) if self-employed.
Graduate Membership
Are you a recent graduate eager to dive into the field? Congratulations! You’re eligible for membership if you’ve graduated within the last two years. We’re excited to welcome you into our community of passionate professionals.
Student Membership
Are you currently pursuing your social work degree? Fantastic! As a student enrolled in an accredited program, you’re eligible for membership. We’re here to support you as you embark on this transformative journey toward becoming a social work professional.
Medicare provider details – how do I update them?
If you’re an AMHSW and have a Medicare Provider Number, log in to MyAASW → My Profile → Account Details and enter your number.
Cancellation Policy
For any enquiries regarding the AASW cancellation policy, please don’t hesitate to contact the membership team. They will be happy to assist you with any questions or concerns you may have.
Can I suspend my membership or go 'on leave'?
Yes. You can apply via MyAASW or email [email protected].

Note: A fee applies. Insurance is paused. Credential fees still apply. You may be eligible for CPD reductions of up to 50% under certain conditions.

Cancellation Policy
What if I wish to cancel my membership?
We understand that circumstances may change, and you may need to cancel your membership with us. Please carefully review our membership cancellation policy outlined below.
- Annual (paid in full) Membership Cancellation: If you have paid for an annual membership upfront, a $100 administration fee will be deducted from the pro-rata refund amount upon cancellation. The administration fee covers the costs associated with processing your membership cancellation request.
- Annual (paid via instalments) Membership Cancellation: If you have paid for an annual membership via instalments there is no administration fee applied for a cancellation request.
- Cancellation Procedure: To cancel your membership, please follow these steps: a. Contact our membership team via [email protected] b. Provide your full name, membership details, and reason for cancellation. c. Please indicate whether you have paid in full or via instalments. d. If you have paid in full, the $100 administration fee will be communicated to you during the cancellation process.
- Cancellation Exemptions: Memberships are unable to be cancelled in the final quarter – April, May, June.
- Refunds: Refunds for membership cancellations will be processed according to the following guidelines: a. For memberships paid in full, a refund will be issued for the remaining unused months following the current month after deducting the administration fee. b. No refund will be issued for remaining unused months for AASW credentials c. For memberships paid via instalments, no refund will be issued, but future charges will be stopped
