  • Respect & Behaviour Guidelines towards AASW staff

At the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW), we are committed to creating a safe, respectful and professional environment for all members of our community — including our staff.

We understand that people may contact us in times of stress or when facing complex challenges. However, abusive, aggressive, or disrespectful behaviour towards our staff will not be tolerated under any circumstances.

This applies to all forms of communication with the AASW, including phone calls, emails, written correspondence, and in-person interactions.

If a person engages in inappropriate behaviour, staff are authorised to:

  • Issue a warning about the conduct
  • Terminate the phone call or end the interaction if the behaviour continues
  • Cease responding to email communication if abuse is present
  • Refer the matter for further review if necessary

We value respectful and constructive communication. By engaging with us courteously, you help ensure our team can provide the best possible service to all members and the broader community.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
