  • The NSW Branch is supported by a Branch Management Committee elected by the Branch membership.

    The Branch’s key role is to provide local support for AASW members through a range of activities that enable members to network, develop practice skills and organise around social justice issues.

    Future-Proofing Social Work - 15 May 25

    Join us in Sydney for a networking session and panel discussion and live Q&A on the future of the social work profession. Connect with senior sector leaders and explore the key workforce challenges that affect social workers today, as well as the strategies needed to build a sustainable future.

    Live panel discussion will consider: The Workforce Crisis – Recruitment & Retention Strategies – Future Skills Needs – Policy & Systemic Change

    A networking session will run before the panel discussion.

    Northern Rivers Practice Group WSWD Event

    Following the devastation of Cyclone Alfred, the Northern Rivers Practice Group was able to hold its WSWD event on 1 April.

     

    The event featured an inspiring panel of Social Workers Jill Rhodes, Jane Waters, Craig Blandon, and Jocelyn Reese, sharing their intergenerational career journeys and highlighting the value of collaboration, mutual respect, and local peer solidarity. Associate Professor Dr Erica Russ (SCU Gold Coast) delivered a powerful plenary on the WSWD theme, emphasising strong professional relationships, collaborative practice, and intergenerational solidarity in Social Work.
